Japanese Lotus Root Salad

According to “Compendium of Material Medica”, lotus root is honored as “spiritual root”. It has a wide range of health benefits owing to its rich nutritional composition. Simply serve with tomato, lettuce, cucumber, and add Wafu dressing to this salad, could help you stay away from calories!


  • 1 section of lotus root
  • 1/4 onion
  • 4 cherry tomatoes
  • 20g lettuce
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 10g mayonnaise
  • 10g rice vinegar
  • 10g Wafu dressing
  • White sesame


Step 1: Clean and peel lotus root, slice it and soak into water with rice vinegar.

Step 2: Rinse onion, cherry tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber. Crop all ingredients into strings.

Step 3: Mix mayonnaise, Wafu dressing and white vinegar. This will be the salad sauce. Combine onion shreds, cherry tomatoes, lotus root and cucumber with salad sauce, mix all well.

Step 4: Put lettuce in a bowl and place the salad, spread some sesame for decorating.
